Green Key certification

In 2026, we signed a cooperation agreement for certification for the Damp Ostsee Resort & Ferienpark.

About Green Key

Green Key is an independent eco-certification program for hotels, hostels, campsites, holiday parks, small accommodations, conference centers, attractions, and restaurants. As of January 2026, more than 8,000 establishments in 90 countries were certified with Green Key. Green Key certification is based on compliance with strict internationally recognized criteria in the areas of environmental management (water, energy, waste, cleaning, etc.) and sustainability education (employees, guests, suppliers, etc.) and is recognized by the GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council).

Compliance with the criteria is confirmed by a rigorous application process and verified by regular on-site audits conducted by third parties. The certification is valid for one year. The Green Key program is administered by the international charity Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and its national member organizations.

Schlei Sea Eagle Protection Association

You can enjoy pure nature on our sea eagle hike.
A two-hour tour along the sea eagle circular trail awaits you, during which you can look forward to information from an expert guide from the Seeadlerschutz Schlei e.V. (Schlei Sea Eagle Protection Association).

There is a short break at the small white-tailed eagle exhibition in the Achter’t Holt restaurant in the Schau forest.
After the hike, each guest receives a white-tailed eagle magazine and children receive a “white-tailed eagle diploma.”

Schlei fjord on the Baltic Sea

As a member of the Ostseefjord Schlei tourism region, we are part of one of Germany’s most sustainable travel regions. For us, this means taking responsibility—for nature, for the local people, and for our guests.

The Schlei Baltic Sea fjord region is certified as a sustainable travel destination and stands for gentle tourism, short distances, and genuine regional value creation. We actively live by this mission statement through resource-efficient management, cooperation with regional partners, and offerings that harmonize nature and cultural experiences.

Baltic Sea Ecosystem

Cleanliness and sustainability go hand in hand at the Ostsee Resort Damp—even when it comes to waste disposal. After all, a healthy Baltic Sea ecosystem starts with small but effective measures taken right on site. Our modern beach trash cans feature a closed system that reliably contains waste, even in strong Baltic Sea winds.

These bins offer more than you might expect at first glance: With a significantly higher capacity than conventional trash cans, a smart fill-level alert, and solar-powered compaction technology, they are designed for efficiency. Compaction occurs as needed—this ensures optimal use of capacity and noticeably reduces the number of emptying runs. The result: fewer collection trips, fewer emissions, and a cleaner environment for our guests and nature.
